At least eighteen (18) members of a terrorist group in the West African country of Burkina Faso have been killed, Wednesday November 20, 2019, sources close to the Burkinabe Army told National Telegraph.
The operation took place in Arbinda, a town and the capital of the Arbinda Department of Soum Province in Northern Burkina Faso.
The gendarmes who took the risk of the terrorist attack also seized important military equipment used by the terrorists, National Telegraph has confirmed.
National Telegraph also learned from the same security sources that Arbinda’s gendarmerie squadron was repelling an attack by about 40 terrorists on motorbikes.
One gendarme was also killed and seven (7) others wounded. The terrorists wanted to seize the Arbinda gendarmerie station, a security source told National Telegraph. The terrorists tried unsuccessfully a few weeks ago to capture the same post.
