Armed Men Kill 14 In Burkina Faso’s Protestant Church, President Kaboré Reacts.

National Telegraph has learned from local sources that 14 worshipers of the Protestant Church of Hantoukoura, East of Burkina Faso have been killed after an attack on the church by armed men, Sunday, December 1, 2019.

Among the victims, our sources report were the Pastor of the church and the children. Many wounded have also been reported. This attack on the church is just one in a long list of attacks in recent weeks. 

Terrorist groups in Northern and Eastern Burkina Faso are also said to be targeting churches and men of God. The last attack on Christians dates back to May 26, when four faithful of a Catholic church were killed by jihadists in Toulfe, in the North of the country.

In a tweet, Sunday, December 1, 2019, the West African country’s President, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré confirmed more than a dozen people have been killed the attack, describing it as “barbaric” and extending sympathies to victims’ families.

“I condemn the barbaric attack on the Protestant Church of Hantoukoura in the department of Foutouri which left 14 dead and several wounded. I extend my deepest condolences to the grieving families and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” Kaboré tweeted.
