A Cameroonian MP has died from a crash on the Ngaoundere – Garoua highway in the country’s Northern regions, early Wednesday July 22, 2020, sources have confirmed to National Telegraph.
Harouna Abdoulaye Bougue died in a nearby infirmary at Gamba, hospital sources said, adding he was terribly affected by the shock.
Another MP, Ahmadou Mohamadou, remains in a critical condition at the local clinic in Gamba along the Ngaoundere road, adds a source.
The two MPs, all from Mayo – Louti in the country’s North Region were returning to their base in same car after the June session of parliament, one of their colleagues said.
Meanwhile, Nafissatou Alim, another MP who was also returning home in a different car remains safe. Hoaxes were already been spread that he is dead, family members say.
The National Assembly is yet to release an official statement on the incident.
