The family of a veteran Cameroonian journalist who died at the end of 2019 in Buea, capital of Cameroon’s South West region has set a rule that will exclude many from the journalist’s final burial rites, National Telegraph has learned.
Kongnyuy Francis Wache died, Friday, December 20, 2019, at the Regional Hospital Buea in the country’s South West. His burial has been scheduled for 2 pm GMT+1, Friday, January 17, 2020, at his family residence behind Auberge, Bonduma-Buea but family members insist it’s “strictly by family members”
Wache is a fervid supporter of the Social Democratic Front – SDF, one of Cameroon’s main opposition political parties and was also Mayor of Nkor in Noni, Bui Division in Cameroon’s North West is dead, Sources have told National Telegraph.
He was also Publisher and Executive Editor at The Post, an English Language tabloid in the country’s Anglophone Regions. He joined Cameroon Life Magazine in 1990 and was quickly promoted to the organ’s Editor-in-chief in 1991.
Wache’s corpse was removed from the morgue of the Buea Regional Hospital, Friday, January 16, 2020. A requiem mass has also been held at the Saint Charles Lwanga Parish, Molyko, Buea, Friday, January 17, 2020.
