Feast Of Bag Snatchers; Cameroon Police Presents Tetrad To Douala Locals!

A National Telegraph stringer captured this picture of four bag-snatching youths ranging from 16-26.

Officials of the Judicial Police in Bonanja, a police unit in the capital city of Cameroon’s Littoral Region, Douala have presented four persons suspected of stealing to the local population of the precinct, Thursday, December 4, 2019. 

Reports say the tetrad is said to have snatched away bags from civilians during a just-ended cultural festival in the area – The Ngondo Festival. Bag-snatching wasn’t supposed to be a common procedure at the Festival but the tetrad made it a craft.

According to security sources, the alleged bandits while at the Ngondo Festival would quietly follow women behind to their destinations and seize their handbags.

Security reports continue that after forcefully seizing these bags, they sell to a reseller at the Douala Central Market, adding it was thanks to the reseller that the police caught up with them.

National Telegraph has obtained their names as Bidja Desire alias Yvan, 17, Elangue Henri, 26, Atya’a Essiane Dieudonne alias Edouard, 23 and Salla Barthelemy, 24.
