The United States Congress in its Oversight and Reform Committee has been listening and questioning Michael Cohen, Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Cohen is onetime President Trump’s most trusted ally and his private lawyer.
While speaking at the Congress, Cohen stated that he had lied and was in session to speak the truth before he finally goes to jail. As he presented his facts, he dampened the character of President Trump and hit his credibility against a rock.
Of the many shocks, Cohen said President Trump is a racist, con man and that he’s a cheat. He also said the president knew in advance that WikiLeaks planned to publish hacked Democratic National Committee emails to affect Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Cohen also indicated a Trump confidant “had just gotten off the phone with WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange and that Assange told Roger Stone that, within a couple of days, there would be a massive dump of emails that would damage Hillary Clinton’s campaign.” “Mr. Trump responded by stating to the effect of ‘wouldn’t that be great,’” Cohen stated.
As Cohen stated that Trump didn’t directly tell him to lie to Congress, he added that as a presidential candidate Trump lied to the American people by denying business in Russia. Cohen also spoke of a possible Trump Tower project in Moscow as Trump was running for president. Going forward, he said he briefed the president’s children, Donald Trump Jr., and Ivanka Trump, on several occasions, as well as Trump himself.
Cohen also provided documents showing from 2011 to 2013, Trump exaggerated his financial position and the value of the properties he owned in order to obtain financing from lenders including Deutsche Bank.
According to the testimony, President Trump attempted to use such documents to obtain a Deutsche loan to purchase the Buffalo Bills and to improve his ranking amongst the wealthiest Americans.
“It was my experience that Mr. Trump inflated his total assets when it served his purposes, such as trying to be listed among the wealthiest people in Forbes, and deflated his assets to reduce his real estate taxes,” Cohen echoed.
Cohen, comparing earlier slangs in which Trump had questioned President Barack Obama’s intelligence said that he was instructed to write a letter to Fordham and Trump’s other educational institutions by Trump to bully and threaten people to ensure Trump’s records were never released.
According to written testimony distributed in advance, Cohen will allege that Trump asked him to arrange for the
A $35,000 check personally signed by Trump on August 1, 2017, Cohen claimed, adding it was meant to reimburse him for paying off Stormy Daniels, a porn star alleged to have had an affair with Trump. Cohen said Trump had instructed him to paid the lady $130,000 so as to buy her silence since the campaign was wrapping off and putting it on air could adversely affect the elections in total violation of campaign finance laws.
Cohen also said he received eleven (11) check installments paid to him throughout the year and as Trump was President. Cohen will also display a $35,000 check, dated March 17, 2017, signed by Donald Trump Jr. and Trump organization chief operating officer Allen Weisselberg, a person familiar with his testimony said. The check also indicated that Trump’s son was involved in the deal.
Cohen said many unbelievable things including the fact that President Trump cheated on his wife, the First Lady. Cohen that apologized to the First Lady saying that she’s a good woman who didn’t deserve what happened. Cohen actually said Trump is a man who can pretend to be generous whereas he’s never been generous.
