The new Turkish Ambassador to The Gambia, Tolga Bermek presents letters of credence to Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mamadou Tangara.
The new Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to The Gambia, Tolga Bermek has presented copies of his Letters of Credence to Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Dr. Mamadou Tangara, Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
Bermek, who succeeded Ismail Sefa Yuceer, noted during the event that the peaceful relationship between the two countries will continue to thrive well in areas of defense and economy and foreign affairs.
He also talked about the possibilities of increasing the operations of Turkish Airlines in The Gambia from 3 to 4 weekly flights. According to the statement we got from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “Ambassador Bermek spoke about the opening of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in April last year.
The Ambassador noted that it would further enhance development cooperation between the two countries in the areas of education, health, and agriculture. He also promised his country will continue working towards strengthening the already cordial bilateral relations with The Gambia in the areas of defense and economy.
Minister Tangara opined that Gambia and Turkey’s bilateral cooperation is admirable. The Gambia will continue to work closely with the Government of Turkey at all levels, the Minister said, praising Turkey for the help offered The Gambia in defense, education, and economy.
