Panic-stricken Cameroon Ambassador To Washington Blocks Embassy Entrance With Caterpillar!

A caterpillar is used in blocking the embassy’s entrance.

The Ambassador of Cameroon to the United States of America has ordered that the entrance into the Embassy be blocked with a heavy-duty machine, Sunday, January 27, 2019. Henri Etoundi Essomba passed the order after enraged Cameroonians in Paris – France, Berlin – Germany, and Brussels – Belgium invaded Cameroon’s embassies in these countries, destroying furniture and figurines of Cameroon’s President, Paul Biya.

In order to avoid a similar situation in the US, Henri Etoundi Essomba reportedly stationed a caterpillar at the entrance of the embassy’s new location at 2349 Massachusetts Ave NW Washington, D.C. 20008. This preventive move followed hours of demonstrations in parts of Cameroon and Europe to showcase disapproval at the country’s current government.

Cameroon Embassy in Paris, France was shattered by angry protesters.

Professor Maurice Kamto, Chair of Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) who contested the just-ended Presidential Elections in Cameroon and declared himself winner had called for a nationwide protest Saturday, January 26, 2019, against what he called Electoral Holdup. The protest was also meant to demonstrate against the killing of Anglophones in the two English-speaking regions of the country engulfed in an armed conflict following demands for an Independent Southern Cameroons aka Ambazonia.

On-the-spot eyewitnesses at the protest have circulated videos and pictures on social media showing how the military opened Live Bullets at unarmed protesters. Celestin Djamen, a militant of Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) was shot on the left leg by the police in Makepe, a neighbourhood Douala, in Cameroon’s Littoral Region, as he protests.

Elsewhere, in the same line of protest, Barrister Michele Ndoki, a famous Cameroonian female Lawyer and a Pro-Kamto supporter who hitherto was assaulted was also shot on the thigh. She later spoke from hospital encouraging protesters never to give up. Many people also reportedly sustained injuries following police brutality. The government has however given a different version, arguing that Live Bullets weren’t used.

Since Kamto declared himself the winner, Cameroon Diaspora mostly French-speaking sympathized with him, accusing President Paul Biya, 85 who is President since 1982 for holding tight to power.  Describing Biya as Dictator, they formed a movement overseas, sworn to kick Biya out. The “Brigade Anti Sardinards” (BAS), as the movement is called extended the Saturday January 26 protest to Cameroon’s embassies in France, Germany and Belgium during when wanton material destruction was recorded.

National Telegraph has been told that on the heels of preventing a similar situation in Washington, the Ambassador deployed a caterpillar to serve as a barricade in case irate protesters would want to repeat the scenarios in France, Germany, and Belgium where great material harm has been done. Pro-Biya supporters who were also spotted at the embassy singing patriotic songs wrapped in the country’s Green Red Yellow flag, appeared to have been protecting the embassy from any incursions before they were later dispersed by the police.

Henri Etoundi Essomba was desperate to ensure he stationed a caterpillar at the entrance of the embassy at 2349 Massachusetts Ave NW Washington, D.C. 20008 to prevent any destruction especially after just being evicted from the embassy’s former location at 3007 Tilden St NW, Washington, DC 20008. For some reasons, the embassy was asked by its lessor to quit the 3007 Tilden St NW, Washington address.

Reports say after the embassy was handed a notice to quit, the Ambassador quickly renovated 2349 Massachusetts Ave NW Washington site that was bought by former President Ahmadou Ahidjo in 1960. On Wednesday, December 26, 2018, the Ambassador placed an official announcement on its website announcing the Embassy’s new location. The Diplomat must have been particularly frightened after Pro-Kamto supporters who took over the other embassies declared President Paul Biya illegitimate and announced demonstrations in key but undisclosed embassies.
