President Buhari’s Chief Of Staff Dies Of COVID-19.

Until death, Abba Kyari was Chief of Staff to tNigerian President.

The Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, Abba Kyari is dead, Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, said. 

Kyari died on Friday, April 17, 2020, according to a tweet from Garba Shehu, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the 77-year-old President. 

“The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19 and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020. May God accept his soul,” Shehu said.

Kyari contracted the virus when he traveled to Germany, early March and has been sick since then before his demise. Officials also say the funeral date will be announced.

Kyari graduated from Cambridge and Warwick universities in the United Kingdom in the early 1980s and was the president’s crony.

The West African country has 493 confirmed cases and 17 deaths, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, confirmed.
