Somalia extended condolences, Tuesday, November 26, 2019, over the death of 13 French personnel in Mali in a helicopter accident earlier this week, according to a statement by Foreign Ministry.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia in a statement said “The Government of Federal Republic of Somalia conveys its deepest condolences and sorrow at the death of 13 French soldiers whilst on a mission in Mali to fight terrorism”
Adding that the Somali government deeply appreciates French’s commitment to fighting terrorism in Africa. The Somali Government called on the French government not to allow the unfortunate incident to dampen its enthusiasm in terms of its active support towards fighting terrorism in Africa.
The statement went further saying “Somalia affirms full solidarity with the government and people of France and extends its sympathies to the families of the victims”.
Finally, Somalia said it stands steadfastly with the government of French in its fight against terrorism.
