Barely after two years of visiting Uganda, no one predicted, world’s celebrated rapper and billionaire Kanye West would vie for US’s topmost position.
In October 2018, Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian visited Uganda. They met up with Uganda’s president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House, Entebbe.
Museveni said they discussed matters to do with investment in Uganda especially in tourism sector. Museveni gave the couple Ugandan names. Kanyesigye (let me trust him) and Kemigisha which means one with blessings from God for Kanye and Kim respectively.
Kanye West pronounced on Saturday on America’s Independence Day – July 4, that he will be challenging president Donald Trump in November 2020 US polls.
“We must now realise the promise of Americans by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of United States!#2020Vision,” he said.
While in Uganda, the couple gifted president Museveni with white sneakers. They also visited Masulita Children’s home, an orphanage in Wakiso, a district neighbouring Kampala.
Kanye promised he will build a first-class tourism school in Uganda.
